Last month De Ruiter Brasil attended Hortitec 2009 in Holambra Brasil wiht a beautiful booth designed by Jessica van der Boon with the brasilian rose varieties.

Go Red / Go White / Go

After intensive testing and selecting in Zimbabwe for the last six years, De Ruiter succesfully introduced the first Hypericum for commercial planting in 2008. Hypericum 'Go Red' is now commercially in production for over one year. The strong characteristics with regards to rust resistance, the shiny berry with a good size and the good production characteristics have basically added to the success of the variety.


At this moment more growers have showed interest in commercial plantings of the Hypericum 'Go Red' because of it's characteristics. The expectations are that more growers will plant the variety before the end of this year, creating an increase in availability on the market.
Also De Ruiter has been working hard to increase the line of varieties. Hypericum 'Red Jewel' was therefore the next being introduced early 2009. A diamond shaped berry with a bright reddish colour and good production characteristics. At this moment growers in Zimbabwe are preparing themself to plant and introduce this variety to the market. Expectations are that the first quantities will be supplied to the market by early 2010.


At the same time De Ruiter is also working on new introductions like 'Go White' and 'Go Orange'. Two other colours that have the same strong characteristics, but can widen the range of colours available.
