Europe

Traditionally, roses were grown in Northwest Europe and the Mediterranean. Today, rose cultivation in Europe is handled by specialized monoculture companies. De Ruiter focuses on offering a diverse range of special varieties that complement the standardized selection grown in Europe.

South-America

South America's rose production centers on export-driven Ecuador and Colombia, and Brazil's emerging local market. De Ruiter, with a strong presence in top-quality varieties, manages operations through local agencies, testing and marketing new varieties. In Brazil, De Ruiter supports growers by adapting varieties to local conditions.

Africa

Africa's rose production is led by Kenya and Ethiopia, where De Ruiter holds a significant share through local agencies. As key exporters to Europe and the Middle East, these countries rely on De Ruiter for its expertise and innovative varieties, tested at different altitudes to meet market demands.

Asia

Asia is a key growth market for De Ruiter, with China at the forefront and expanding networks in Southeast and Central Asia. In Eurasia, including Russia, Armenia, and the Stan republics, De Ruiter focuses on climate-adapted varieties and grower support to strengthen regional sales.

In a market where quality, consistency, and aesthetic value are key, spray rose Constellation® stands out as a variety that delivers. This E.G. Hill spray rose is represented by De Ruiter in East Africa and attracts growing interest from retailers and professional floral designers.

Lucas Choi of Flora Ola with the Constellation spray rose

"This is a variety that immediately draws attention," says Lucas Choi of Flora Ola, a grower based in Bahati, Nakuru, Kenya. While the color is elegant, characteristics are just as, if not more important in a rose. "The opening is excellent, it's easy to grow and it has a very good garden shape. Besides that, this spray rose produces a lot of flowers: between five and eight flowers per stem, which is ideal for premium bouquets." With a vase life of up to ten days, this variety ensures that consumers enjoy its charm long after purchase.

Reliable production
From a production standpoint, Constellation offers growers strong commercial value. With stem lengths reaching up to 80 cm and a dependable yield, it ensures a steady supply to meet retail demands. "Its consistently high quality and ease of cultivation make it a smart choice for farms looking to supply high-end retail and floral design markets," says Rohit Patil of De Ruiter.

Expansion
Choi currently grows the variety on a quarter hectare and has plans to expand. "We see real potential in this rose, not only for its looks, but also for its performance. It's reliable, productive, and well-suited to the demands of today's floral trade."

With increasing interest from both growers and retailers, Spray Rose Constellation is well on its way to becoming a category favorite. Choi concludes: "Elegant appearance meets lasting performance in this baby-pink spray rose. If you're seeking a spray rose that combines all the good things, Constellation might be the one you are looking for."
