Europe

Traditionally, roses were grown in Northwest Europe and the Mediterranean. Today, rose cultivation in Europe is handled by specialized monoculture companies. De Ruiter focuses on offering a diverse range of special varieties that complement the standardized selection grown in Europe.

South-America

South America's rose production centers on export-driven Ecuador and Colombia, and Brazil's emerging local market. De Ruiter, with a strong presence in top-quality varieties, manages operations through local agencies, testing and marketing new varieties. In Brazil, De Ruiter supports growers by adapting varieties to local conditions.

Africa

Africa's rose production is led by Kenya and Ethiopia, where De Ruiter holds a significant share through local agencies. As key exporters to Europe and the Middle East, these countries rely on De Ruiter for its expertise and innovative varieties, tested at different altitudes to meet market demands.

Asia

Asia is a key growth market for De Ruiter, with China at the forefront and expanding networks in Southeast and Central Asia. In Eurasia, including Russia, Armenia, and the Stan republics, De Ruiter focuses on climate-adapted varieties and grower support to strengthen regional sales.

Where Trends Meet Tradition - Discovering De Ruiter’s Roses at the IFTF

I want to share some of the details that made this exhibition unique for those who couldn’t attend the IFTF show (International Floriculture Trade Fair) in the Netherlands this year. The IFTF is not only one of the largest annual floral events worldwide but also a great space to discover purposeful varieties, creatively displayed to become chosen to adapt to the current trends and demands of each season and its respective market.

De Ruiter Is a Must-Stop With a Purpose

At this annual showing, De Ruiter is a must-stop. I selected each of the following roses with a particular intent. The sunny yellow and earthy tones, like the ones you see here, are ideal for creating timeless designs; allowing their warmth and versatility to make them perfect for any season. Lavenders, always on-trend, have become synonymous with romance and are perfect for delicate, poetic designs. Whites, on the other hand, maintain a constant demand across all markets, bringing elegance and purity—essential qualities in any design.

I couldn’t leave out the green-toned rose, Lime X-pression, which brings a dramatic and unique texture to the playground, a rose perfect for bouquets and creative arrangements with character. Its unusual tone and structure add impressive depth and a modern touch to any floral composition in which it is added.
